Jenny asks…

Does online auto insurance quote comparison sites work?

I am shopping for auto insurance in Texas and wondering if the quotes comparison provided online are reliable. Can anyone give me a reputable that has many insurance companies to compare? Thanks.

admin answers:

You could go to an independent insurance broker that represents multiple companies and he can give you comparison quotes. I personally would recommend getting coverage from one of the larger companies such as State Farm, Farmers or Allstate.

Helen asks…

Does Obama really believe his comparison between auto insurance and health insurance is legitimate?

Even W sees the holes in that argument. Is Obama trying to fool the least of us ?

admin answers:

I agree, comparing the two is like apples and oranges.

Betty asks…

Does Saskatchewan have public auto insurance? What are premiums like in comparison with Ontario?

admin answers:

Mandatory auto insurance coverages must be purchased through the government auto insurer (Saskatchewan Government Insurance however they are better known as SGI). Comparing premiums between the two is a waste of time as the two provinces do not have the same population, populations density, climate, demographics, topography, policy coverages, etc. Might as well compare premiums between Ontario and Belgium.

Whats the cheapest car insurance company in Missouri?

I am 20 and attend college. I never needed a car before but now that I have to start driving, I have to get my driver’s license. I have my permit and a car but since I need legal tags and insurance to take the driving test. I have to get insurance before I can get tags. So I wanted to know whats the best insurance company for me, where prices won’t be outrageous??? Thanks for the help: )

admin answers:

You also need a driver’s license to register the car and get the plates as well. Can’t you use your parent’s car for your road test? As for insurance, shop around for the best rate.

Richard asks…

Car Insurance in Missouri?

I need help finding car insurance that is affordable.
My boyfriend moved out of his house 3 months ago and his dad says that he will give him his car back if he gets insurance on it.
He is 17 and cant afford $400 worth of insurance each month. [works at Mcdonalds]
Does anyone know of any cheap insurance?

admin answers:

It’s not based on what you can afford, it’s based on the risk level. At 17, his BEST bet is to drive a $1,000 junker and put minimum liability on it – NO collision or comprehensive. Unless he has a horrible driving record, it should run him less than half of that $400.

But he has to be driving a “paid for” car for that.

George asks…

In the state of Missouri, is my car covered when my son drives it, if he is on his dad’s car insurance and my

insurance is canceled? Legally, does the car have to be covered, the driver, or both?

admin answers:

Insurance follows vehicles, not people, in all states. Not sure what you’re asking. If you have no insurance on your vehicle and your son drives it, his father’s insurance won’t extend to your vehicle. He can always report the accident to them if he has one, and they will have to examine your policy language to determine if the vehicle qualilfies for coverage with them. I am not going to get into the intricacies of an insurance policy, but I’ll say it’s a possibility, but nothing you should bank on.

Bottom line is you can’t “jump” on his father’s policy for coverage just by the mere fact that the son drives the vehicle. If it’s furnished in any way for his regular use, it will most certainly not be covered.

Get insurance!!!
