Take Care of Your Older Car
The state of the economy and the high price of new cars have caused many people to keep their cars much longer which means they will have to service their automobile more often if they going to be successful owners of high mileage automobiles. If your car has, lets say, more than 70,000 miles I would place it in this category and

there are certain things that you should be done to ensure good operating performance and low cost auto insurance.

First of all, you should have the oil changed every 3000 miles, in my view, which may considered overkill but I think it may go a long way to protecting your

car and reducing maintenance costs. Also, be sure to use a high quality oil and use the same type with each oil change. Be sure you have the oil filter replaced

with each oil change and have your service facility check the air cleaner, as well .Also, be sure to have the belts and hoses checked on a regular basis.

Periodically, check your tires and rotate them every 6000 miles. Also, be sure to check your tire pressure to ensure proper wear which may help protect your suspension system.

These suggestions may seem a little extreme to the reader but it has worked for me. One of my cars is an 1995 Toyota Camry with 80,000 miles and I have never

had a repair bill other than the preventative measures mentioned in this article. We at drivestrong.com are committed to providing auto insurance at competitive prices with good

coverage. We also strive to educate our readers so their automobile ownership and drive experience can be pleasurable.

Driving While Using Your Cell Phone
One of the major topics when discussing auto insurance and driving distractions is cell phone use and texting. It is amazing to me that there is not as much empirical

data as I expected when researching this subject. There is no question in my mind that cell phone use and texting is distracting while driving and causes

accidents. It seems that the data varies from state to state which is one of the reasons there is such a discrepancy in cell phone laws among the states. Some

states have found that cell phone use while driving increases the probability of a crash by as much as four fold and other states as low as 1.2 fold.

It is clear that texting while driving is extremely dangerous and some studies indicate that texting is more dangerous and causes more accidents than drinking and

driving.That is an amazing statistic.

Almost 75% of drivers use cell phones while driving and I would not be surprised if it is higher than that. It is the view of this writer that all states should

adopt stringent cell phone laws banning them while driving both for texting and speaking directly on the phone. I am not sure if hands free should be permitted but it

may be an effective compromise.

Some states have made driving while using a cell phone illegal and ticket the offender which will result in points added to his or her license. The insurance industry is pleased with this development as they will be entitled to charge higher premiums for those who violate cell phone laws.

We, at drivestrong.com, serve our customers by providing auto insurance at competitive prices with effective coverage. We are also committed to educating

Finding the proper car insurance can be a formidable and difficult task depending how you go about it.Their are many industry experts that can help and we at

drivestrong.com are here to serve your insurance needs. Once you fill out our simple application you will receive quotes from a number of different carriers so you can compare coverages and costs.

When filling our our form please be careful to include all of your information. Include your driver license number, the type of vehicle you drive and any information regarding your driving record. You will also be asked for information on the type of deductible you desire and the limits of liability. We realize that each one of our visitors have different desires and needs as well as different financial circumstances. So once again, please include all of the information that you know – if you do not know that is ok as we will work with you in developing the correct auto insurance program for you.

On this website we provide information for our visitors so you can develop the best possible plan for you. There are many common questions that come up and we will give you just a few examples

(1) Does the state that I reside in make a difference?

Insurance premiums vary a great deal from state to state. Therefore, the state you are living in does make a difference. For example, the state with the

cheapest auto insurance is Idaho.
(2)Does age make a difference in securing auto insurance?
Age makes a big difference in the price and even availability of car insurance. The drivers between the ages of 16 and 25 are the most expensive to insure but we at drive strong will find the most economical policy for your needs.

.
(3)Does the type of car have a impact upon cost of insurance?
The type of care does have an impact. Some of the more expensive cars for example are more expensive to insure as replacement costs are higher. Also, the

safety equipment will have a big impact. Equipment such as anti-lock brakes, airbags, etc will reduce the costs.
(4)Will my driving record affect the cost of my insurance? Yes it will as the more points you have the higher the cost. You will still be able to get

insurance for your vehicle but we always suggest you do everything you can to maintain a good driving record. Also, you can take driver safety courses which

will help reduce your premiums..

(5) Are there any discounts available?

One of the most effective ways to secure discounts in addition to a good driving record, and a safe vehicle is to put your entire family under one carrier. Additionally, if you put other insurance under the same carrier, such as homeowners, you will receive additional discounts.

To conclude, finding affordable auto insurance can be done at this site. There are many things you can do to reduce your costs such as taking driver safety courses, maintaining a good driving record and ensuring that you have up to date safety equipment. what ever your situation we at drivestrong.com will assist you in securing the lowest cost auto insurance possible with the coverage your desire.

You could go to an independent insurance broker that represents multiple companies and he can give you comparison quotes. I personally would recommend getting coverage from one of the larger companies such as State Farm, Farmers or Allstate.

admin answers:

Mandatory auto insurance coverages must be purchased through the government auto insurer (Saskatchewan Government Insurance however they are better known as SGI). Comparing premiums between the two is a waste of time as the two provinces do not have the same population, populations density, climate, demographics, topography, policy coverages, etc. Might as well compare premiums between Ontario and Belgium.

It’s not based on what you can afford, it’s based on the risk level. At 17, his BEST bet is to drive a $1,000 junker and put minimum liability on it – NO collision or comprehensive. Unless he has a horrible driving record, it should run him less than half of that $400.

admin answers:

Insurance follows vehicles, not people, in all states. Not sure what you’re asking. If you have no insurance on your vehicle and your son drives it, his father’s insurance won’t extend to your vehicle. He can always report the accident to them if he has one, and they will have to examine your policy language to determine if the vehicle qualilfies for coverage with them. I am not going to get into the intricacies of an insurance policy, but I’ll say it’s a possibility, but nothing you should bank on.

Bottom line is you can’t “jump” on his father’s policy for coverage just by the mere fact that the son drives the vehicle. If it’s furnished in any way for his regular use, it will most certainly not be covered.

Get insurance!!!
