Take Care of Your Older Car
The state of the economy and the high price of new cars have caused many people to keep their cars much longer which means they will have to service their automobile more often if they going to be successful owners of high mileage automobiles. If your car has, lets say, more than 70,000 miles I would place it in this category and
there are certain things that you should be done to ensure good operating performance and low cost auto insurance.
First of all, you should have the oil changed every 3000 miles, in my view, which may considered overkill but I think it may go a long way to protecting your
car and reducing maintenance costs. Also, be sure to use a high quality oil and use the same type with each oil change. Be sure you have the oil filter replaced
with each oil change and have your service facility check the air cleaner, as well .Also, be sure to have the belts and hoses checked on a regular basis.
Periodically, check your tires and rotate them every 6000 miles. Also, be sure to check your tire pressure to ensure proper wear which may help protect your suspension system.
These suggestions may seem a little extreme to the reader but it has worked for me. One of my cars is an 1995 Toyota Camry with 80,000 miles and I have never
had a repair bill other than the preventative measures mentioned in this article. We at drivestrong.com are committed to providing auto insurance at competitive prices with good
coverage. We also strive to educate our readers so their automobile ownership and drive experience can be pleasurable.
